What we make
Incipit Games makes pixel-art video games that are fun to play and faithful to the Church. Our games carry real Scripture, real Gregorian chant and real Church history inside them. Lumen is a candlelit mystery you play on your phone: you tilt it like a candle to raise scraped ink from the manuscripts of a drowned Galician abbey. Holy Keys is a 16-bit typing adventure where children learn the keyboard by copying psalms, prayers and Bible verses, one holy word at a time.
Who it is for
We build for Catholic and Christian families, homeschool co-ops, parish youth groups, and teachers in Catholic schools, from first grade through eighth. We also build for anyone, young or old, who loves a good puzzle, a beautiful page, or a quiet place to pray. Our games have no ads, no loot boxes, no paid currency and no open chat, and we collect as little information as we can.
Who builds it
Incipit is a small, independent Catholic studio. We draw every pixel by hand in the colors of medieval manuscripts, quote Scripture from the Douay-Rheims, and test our games with real families and classrooms. Our name comes from the first word of a medieval book, "here begins," because we hope every game is a first page that leads players toward the whole story of the Faith. Everything we make is offered ad maiorem Dei gloriam.
